Bosconian David Chetia Wanniang swam the entire length of the mighty Brahmaputra river in Assam from Sisinighat, Tinsukia to Dhubri, a distance of 1000 kms in 24 days in Feb-Mar 1993. He also had the rare distinction of recovering dead bodies of two school children from Beadon Bishop Falls Shillong (a depth of 1000 ft ) in Sept 1991 when even the army, police and fire brigade personnel had abandoned the idea owing to the personal risk of their lives. In recognition of this unique achievement, the Govt of Assam appointed Mr David as the life guard cum trainer at the BP Chaliha swimming pool, Guwahati.

Chandan Baruah participated in the Asia Pacific Swimming held at Hong Kong in 1993, and at Colombo in 1995. He secured bronze in 4×100 m free style relay in the 39 th School National Aquatic Championship, Calcutta in1995. Chandan won two bronze and one silver medal in100m, 200m backstroke and 4x100m medley relay in the 40 th National Aquatic Championship Pune in 1996.

Elvis Ali Hazarika participated in the Asia Pacific Swimming Championship from 1991-1995. In 1992 Elvis won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Again in1993, he won 2 golds and 4 silver medals in the Asia Pacific Swimming. He won eight gold medals with three new national records in 50m, 100 and 200m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m IM in the 12 th Junior National Aquatic Championship held at Bhopal in 1995. Elvis bagged three golds and created three new national records in 50m and 100m free style and 100m butterfly in the 39 th National School Meet, Calcutta in 1995. Elvis also won three golds and created three new national records in 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly in 40 th National School Meet, Pune in 1996.

Nipon Barua participated in the Asia Pacific Swimming Champs held at Taiwan, China in 1997. He had secured one silver and two bronze medals in 50m butterfly, 50m and 100m free style in the 14 th Sub Junior National Swimming Champs 1997. Nipon also secured one silver and two bronze medals in 100m free style, 50m free style and 100m butterfly in the 41 st National Aquatic Championship, Goa 1997.

P Rameshwar Singh secured one bronze medal in the35th school National Aquatic Championship held at Madras / Chennai in 1991.

Babul Gurung won one gold medal in 50m free style in the 39 th School National Aquatic Championship held at Calcutta in 1995.

Saurav Gogoi created quite a sensation when he successfully swam the full length of Digalipukhuri and Joysagar Pukhuri at the tender age of three years only.

Monjyoti Rabha won the overall Best Swimmer Award at the All Assam Aquatic Meet 2002 held in Guwahati. He won the Gold, Silver & Bronze in the 50m F/S, 100m F/S and 200m F/S respectively. At the National Games 2002 held in Pune he won the Silver and Bronze in the 50m F/S and 100m F/S while Gaurav Choudhury reached the finals. Monjyoti Gogoi represented the State Team and reached the finals at the Junior National Aquatic Championship 2002 held at Chennai.

Presently the Bosconian swimmers along with the five SAI day boarding scheme trainees are regularly undergoing their daily coaching under the guidance of SAI swimming coach Mr. Robindra Modak at the BP Chaliha Swimming Pool.
